11.21.010 - Commercial vehicles for hire prohibited.

A. Except as provided in this section, commercial vehicles for hire are prohibited on the following described streets of the city:

  1. Between Grange Street and Parkview Avenue, east of Favretto Avenue to the Anderson-Cottonwood Irrigation District Canal;

  2. Florence Street from Continental Street to Sequoia Street;

  3. Garden Avenue from Locust Street to Yuba Street;

  4. Placer Street from Continental Street to Sequoia Street;

  5. Sacramento Street from Continental Street to Sequoia Street;

  6. Sequoia Street from South Street to Placer Street;

  7. South Street from East Street to Park Marina Drive;

  8. Verda Street from South Street to Yuba Street;

  9. Yuba Street from Continental Street to Sequoia Street;

  10. Beltline Road south of Caterpillar Road;

  11. Redwood Boulevard;

  12. White River Drive; and

  13. Alta Mesa Drive from Hartnell Avenue to Rancho Road.

B. The city engineer shall cause to be erected and maintained district signs with the wording thereon "Commercial Vehicles For Hire Prohibited," and such signs shall be so placed as to give adequate and sufficient warning to vehicles entering the area in which commercial vehicles for hire are prohibited.

C. The provisions of this section shall not apply to emergency vehicles of the police or fire department of the city, nor to any vehicle which is on such streets for the purpose of servicing businesses or householders in the area in the normal course of business transactions, nor to vehicles installing or servicing utilities in the area.
