§ 2.40.010. Required—Requirements.

A. In accordance with Section 36518 of the Government Code, bonds shall be required of city officers and employees in penal sums as follows:

  1. City clerk, fifteen thousand dollars;

  2. City treasurer, fifteen thousand dollars;

  3. All other officers and employees of the city, including deputies of the city clerk and city treasurer, shall be covered by an honesty position bond, issued by a surety company authorized to do business with the state for the faithful performance of the duties of their respective offices or employment, in the aggregate penal sum of twenty-five thousand dollars for all such employees.

B. If any person fills two or more of the above-de-scribed offices, then only one bond shall be required for such person in an amount equal to the greatest sum required for any of such offices held.

§ 2.40.020. Payment of premiums.

The premiums for such bonds shall be paid from the city's general fund.
