§ 16.32.010. Title.¶
This chapter shall be known and cited as the Rancho Cordova mechanical code.

§ 16.32.020. Purpose.¶
The purpose of the Rancho Cordova mechanical code is to provide minimum system standards to safeguard life or limb, health, property, and public welfare by regulating and controlling the design, construction, installation, quality of materials, location, operation, and maintenance or use of heating, ventilating, cooling, refrigeration systems, incinerators, and other miscellaneous heat-producing appliances within this jurisdiction.

§ 16.32.030. Adoption of mechanical codes.¶
The 2025 California Mechanical Code, Part 4, Title 24 of the California Code of Regulations (hereinafter referred to as the "State Code"), incorporating the Uniform Mechanical Code, 2024 Edition, published by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, and any rules and regulations promulgated pursuant thereto, are hereby adopted and incorporated by reference herein. Except as otherwise provided by this chapter and Chapter 16.02 RCMC, the provisions thereof shall be controlling within the limits of the city of Rancho Cordova.
