13.08.050 - Application.

The following rules are established for making main extensions:

A. Application. Any owner of one or more lots or parcels, or subdivider of a tract of land, desiring the extension of one or more water mains to serve such property, shall make a written application therefor to the city. The application shall contain the legal description of the property to be served and the tract number thereof, and any additional information which may be required by the city, and shall be accompanied by a map showing the location of the proposed connections.

B. Investigation. Upon receipt of the application, the superintendent shall make an investigation of the proposed extension and shall report his findings to the council, including the estimated cost thereof.

C. Ruling. The council shall thereupon consider said application and report and, after consideration, reject or approve the proposal.

D. City Lines. All extensions thus provided for in accordance with these regulations shall become and remain the property of the city.

E. Dead-end Lines. No dead-end lines shall be permitted, except at the discretion of the city, and in cases where circulation lines are necessary, they shall be designed and installed by the water department as a part of the cost of the extension.
