Article 4 — DUMPS: HIGH FIRE DANGER

Sec. 4-2.401. - High fire danger: Restrictions.

(a)

During any period of high fire danger, as determined by the Plumas National Forest Supervisor or his authorized representative, it shall be unlawful for any person to enter, deposit refuse, or ignite refuse at any County dump in the Plumas National Forest between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

(b)

During any period of high fire danger, as determined by the Lassen National Forest Supervisor or his authorized representative, it shall be unlawful for any person to enter, deposit refuse, or ignite refuse at any County dump in the Lassen National Forest between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

(c)

During periods of high fire danger all County dumps shall be posted and all roads entering County dumps shall be closed between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. in the National Forest where the danger has been determined to exist.

Sec. 4-2.402. - Extreme fire danger: Restrictions.

(a)

During any period of extreme fire danger, as determined by the Plumas National Forest Supervisor or his authorized representative, it shall be unlawful for any person to enter, deposit refuse, or ignite refuse at any County dump in the Plumas National Forest at any time; provided, however, refuse may be deposited at the Quincy, Greenville, and Portola dumps, under the supervision of designated County employees, between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. if weather conditions are deemed appropriate by the responsible County and Federal officials.

(b)

During any period of extreme fire danger, as determined by the Lassen National Forest Supervisor or his authorized representative, it shall be unlawful for any person to enter, deposit refuse, or ignite refuse at any County dump in the Lassen National Forest at any time; provided, however, refuse may be deposited at the Chester dump, under the supervision of designated County employees, between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. if weather conditions are deemed appropriate by the responsible County and Federal officials.

(c)

During periods of extreme fire danger all County dumps shall be posted and all roads entering County dumps shall be closed in the forest where the danger has been determined to exist for twenty-four (24) hours a day, except during the 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. period referred to in this section.

Sec. 4-2.403. - Burning: Restrictions.

During the period from May 15 to November 15 it shall be unlawful for any person, other than a County employee specifically authorized by a forest service permit, to ignite refuse in a County dump.

Sec. 4-2.404. - Enforcement.

The provisions of this article shall be enforced by all County, State, and Federal peace officers, the Forest Service Officer, the Fire Warden, the Fish and Game Warden, and designated employees of the Road Department and Health Department.
