§ 10.28.010. Bicycle lanes.

It is unlawful for any person to ride or operate a bicycle upon a roadway adjacent to which or upon which bicycle lanes have been designated, except within such bicycle lane or except as otherwise permitted by the provisions of this article.

§ 10.28.020. Use of bicycle path required.

It is unlawful for any person to ride or operate a bicycle upon a roadway adjacent to which there is a bicycle path which parallels said roadway and which bicycle path, when measured from the edge of the roadway to the edge of the bicycle path nearest the roadway, is not more than 75 feet distant, except within such bicycle path or except as otherwise permitted by the provisions of this article.

§ 10.28.030. Bicycles prohibited from certain highways.

A. Loomis-Taylor Road (D2040). Bicycles are prohibited from using Taylor Road between the intersection of Taylor Road and Webb Street and Del Oro High School.

B. Penryn-English Colony Way (D4052). Bicycles are prohibited from using English Colony Way between the intersection of English Colony Way and the Southern Pacific Railroad crossing and the Penryn Elementary School.

C. This section shall not become effective until appropriate regulatory signs are posted in accordance with the provisions of Vehicle Code Section 21103.

§ 10.28.040. Bicycles prohibited from certain state highways.

A. Tahoe City—State Highway 28. Bicycles are prohibited from using State Highway 28 between the intersection of State Highway 28 and Dollar Drive and the intersection of State Highway 28 and Jack Pine Street.

B. State Highway 89. Bicycles are prohibited from using State Highway 89 between the intersection of State Highway 89 and Fanny Bridge and the intersection of State Highway 89 and Timberland Lane.

C. This section shall not become effective until appropriate regulatory signs are posted in accordance with the provisions of Vehicle Code Section 21103.
