SEC. 28.1 PROHIBITED CONDUCT

It shall be unlawful for any person to willfully or maliciously tease, taunt, torment, strike, kick, mutilate, disable or otherwise injure or kill, or to unwarrantably interfere or meddle with any canine while such animal is being used by the City of Piedmont police department, or any officer or other employee thereof, in the performance of any function or duty of said department or of such officer or employee. SEC. 28.2 PENALTIES

Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined in an amount not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500.00) or imprisoned in the county jail for a period not exceeding ninety (90) days or by being both so fined and imprisoned.
