Each member of the city council shall receive a salary of $1,623.16 per month.

Editor's note— Section 3 of Ord. No. 1419 states "Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days after its adoption. The new compensation for the Mayor and City Councilmembers shall be effective after one or more council members begin a new term of office following the adoption of this Ordinance pursuant to Government Code Section 36516.5."

Each member of the city council shall receive a vehicle allowance in an amount equal to the vehicle allowance for the "executive class" of city employees as provided in the schedule of salary and benefits for management employees, as may be amended from time to time, or, if a successor document is approved, then the equivalent class of city employees as provided therein. For the purposes of this section, the "executive class" shall not include the city manager.

Editor's note— Section 7 of Ord. No. 1395 states that the new vehicle allowance for the mayor and city councilmembers shall be effective as of December 1, 2020.

All other salaries, wages and rates of compensation shall be fixed by order or resolution of the city council.

The compensation or salary of every city officer or employee provided by or pursuant to this chapter shall be in full for his service in the specified capacity, and all fees collected by him shall be paid into the city treasury when received in his official capacity, except as may be expressly allowed by the terms of his appointment or employment.
