5.16.010 - Actions prohibited when unrequested—Nuisance.

The practice of going in and upon private residences in the city by solicitors, peddlers, hawkers, itinerant merchants and transient vendors of merchandise, not having been requested or invited so to do by the owner or owners, occupant or occupants of said private residences, for the purpose of soliciting orders for the sale of goods, wares and merchandise, and/or for the purpose of disposing of and/or peddling or hawking the same, is hereby declared to be a nuisance, and punishable as such nuisance as a misdemeanor.

5.16.020 - Enforcement—Abatement of nuisance.

The chief of police and police officers of the city are required and directed to suppress and abate any such nuisance as is described in Section 5.16.010 of this chapter.

5.16.030 - Violation—Penalty.

Any person convicted of maintaining a nuisance shall be guilty of an infraction and shall be punishable as set forth in Section 1.16.010 of this code.
