Sec. 3-3-200. - Assumption of responsibility.

Pursuant to Public Resources Code section 4129, the County of Orange hereby elects to assume responsibility, effective July 1, 1980, for the prevention and suppression of all fires on all lands in Orange County, including lands within state responsibility areas, subject to the concurrence of the Director of the State Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, but not including lands owned or controlled by the federal government or any agency of the federal government or lands within the exterior boundaries of any city. Said assumption of responsibility is contingent on the recurring execution of a contract acceptable to the County, providing for the reimbursement of the County's costs of serving the state responsibility areas as provided in Public Resources Code Section 4133.
