Sec. 2-6-1. - Legislative purpose.

Prior to the enactment of this ordinance, a number of County Service Areas have been established within the County of Orange in accordance with section 25210.1 et seq. of the Government Code, to provide certain services, including miscellaneous extended services, within specified geographical areas. By enacting this ordinance, it is the intention of the Board of Supervisors to provide authorization for, and establish a procedure for, the annual imposition of fees upon the owners of real property benefited by such services, and the collection of such fees, in order to defray the cost to the County of providing such miscellaneous extended services. It is intended that such fees will be apportioned among the parcels of real property in each County Service Area, in proportion to the estimated benefits received by each parcel from such miscellaneous extended services.

Sec. 2-6-2. - Establishment of County Service Areas.

The County Service Areas listed in article 2 of this division have been heretofore established in the County of Orange, and such County Service Areas have been authorized to perform the miscellaneous extended services specified in said article.
