Sec. 36A.6. - Described.

The following loading zones are hereby reserved for the exclusive use of the busses of the city transportation system:

Southwest corner of Second and Freeman Streets. That rectangular portion of Second Street being eight (8) feet in width and forty (40) feet in length the southerly line or boundary of such rectangular portion being all those contiguous portions of the southerly curb line of Second Street situate between a point on the southerly curb line of Second Street ten (10) feet westerly from the intersection of the extension of the southerly curb line of Second Street with the extension of the westerly curb line of Freeman Street, and a point on the southerly curb line of Second Street fifty (50) feet westerly from the intersection of the extension of the southerly curb line of Second Street with the extension of the westerly curb line of Freeman Street.

Northeast corner of Second and Freeman Streets. That rectangular portion of Second Street being eight (8) feet in width and fifty (50) feet in length the northerly line or boundary of such rectangular portion being all those contiguous portions of the northerly curb line of Second Street situate between a point on such northerly curb line of Second Street ten (10) feet easterly from the intersection of the extension of the northerly curb line of Freeman Street, and a point on such northerly curb line of Second Street sixty (60) feet easterly from such intersection of the extension of the northerly curb line of Second Street with the extension of the easterly curb line of Freeman Street.

Southeast corner of Topeka and Hill Streets. That rectangular portion of Hill Street being eight (8) feet in width and thirty (30) feet in length, the easterly line or boundary of such rectangular portion being all those contiguous portions of the easterly curb line of Hill Street, situate between a point on the easterly curb line of Hill Street, twenty-four (24) feet southerly from the intersection of the extension of the southerly curb line of Topeka Street with the extension of the easterly curb line of Hill Street, and a point on the easterly curb line of Hill Street fifty-four (54) feet southerly from such intersection of the extension of the easterly curb line of Hill Street with the extension of the southerly curb line of Topeka Street.

In front of the U.S.O. Building. That rectangular portion of Third Street being eight (8) feet wide lying parallel with and adjacent to the southeasterly curb of such street and extending northeasterly from the northeasterly line of Tremont Street to the southwesterly line of the alley between Tremont Street and Hill Street.

Northeast corner of Fourth and Hill Streets. That rectangular portion of Hill Street being eight (8) feet wide and lying parallel with and adjacent to the northeasterly curb of such street and extending northwesterly for a distance of forty (40) feet from the northwesterly line of Fourth Street.

Southwest corner of First and Hill Streets. A rectangular portion of Hill Street eight (8) feet wide lying adjacent to the southwesterly curb and extending forty (40) feet along the curbline the northwesterly end of which lies eleven (11) feet southeasterly of the southeasterly line of First Street.

Southwest corner of alley and First Street at Post Office. A rectangular portion of First Street eight (8) feet wide lying adjacent to the southeasterly curb and extending sixteen (16) feet along the curb line, the northeasterly end of which is the southeasterly line of the alley between Hill Street and Freeman Street.

Northeasterly corner of Tremont and Third Streets. That rectangular portion of Tremont Street being eight (8) feet wide lying parallel with, and adjacent to the northeasterly curb of such street, and extending southeasterly for a distance of fifty (50) feet from the southeasterly line of Third Street, be and it is hereby reserved for the exclusive use as a bus loading zone of the city transportation system, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. of every day.

Sec. 36A.7. - Authority of city to create additional zones.

The city council may, by resolution, determine the location of additional bus loading zones and, in connection therewith, cause to be placed, painted or maintained such signs, markers or printed curbings as may be required by the Vehicle Code of the state and amendments thereto, or as may be deemed necessary or useful for such purposes.

Sec. 36A.8. - Unlawful to stop, stand or park in loading zones; responsibility of owner…

The loading zones described in section 36A.6 are hereby expressly reserved for use by the city transportation system. It shall be unlawful for any person to stop, stand or park any vehicle in the aforementioned bus loading zones; and the owner of any motor vehicle who permits his vehicle to be operated by another person shall for the purpose of this chapter be conclusively presumed to have permitted the driver of his motor vehicle to stop, stand or park in the loading zones hereinabove described.

Sec. 36A.9. - Penalty for violation of article.

Any violation of the provisions of this article for the use of such zones shall be considered a violation of this chapter, and shall be punished as provided in section 1.7.
