Oceanside Municipal Code Art. V Determination of Employment Status

Any employee is the classified service may make a written request for a determination by the personnel director relative to any situation, status or condition of employment which is not related to the subject matters covered by a formally adopted and approved grievance procedure, which written request shall present all facts relative to the request.

Upon receipt of a written request for determination pursuant to section 23.43, the personal director, or his or her designee, shall render a written determination on the request in a timely manner. The personnel director may render a determination solely on the basis of a review of the record, may make such investigation as he or she may deem necessary, or may arrange a meeting with the employee before rendering a determination. Such a determination of the personnel director shall be final and conclusive of the matter.
