Sec. 19A.1. - Intent and purpose.

[It is the intent and purpose of this chapter] to establish a set of standards implementing policies set forth in the city's local coastal plan and regulating the design and use of seawalls, revetments, breakwaters, groins, cliff retaining walls, and other such construction, that will prevent:

(a) Obstruction of coastal access;

(b) Adverse impacts to shoreline and transport or supply;

(c) Unstable structures or structures that fail to afford protection to the property or uses it was designed to protect for the proposed life of the project;

(d) Erosion or instability of adjacent property;

(e) Alteration of natural landforms or adverse effects to the scenic qualities of the coast.

Sec. 19A.2. - Name of chapter.

This chapter shall be known as the "Seawall Ordinance."
