8.04.490 - County health officer.

The county health officer shall enforce and administer all provisions of this chapter, and for this purpose he shall have the powers of a peace officer, and he may enter upon any premises in the city, except an occupied dwelling, for the purpose of inspection and enforcement.

8.04.500 - Local fire chief.

The local fire chief shall make regular inspection of any premises for which a license or permit has been issued under this chapter, and any other premises upon which he has reason to believe waste has collected or been deposited or stored in such manner and in such quantities as to constitute a fire hazard. For such purpose he shall have the power of a peace officer and may enter upon any premises in the city, except an occupied dwelling, for the purpose of inspection. When the local fire chief finds that a fire hazard exists upon any such premises he shall serve a notice upon the owner or person in possession of the premises upon which the fire hazard exists, to abate, or cause to be abated, the fire hazard upon the premises. The notice shall particularly specify in ordinary and concise language the facts showing the fire hazard to exist, a description of the premises, and how it is to be abated, and that if abatement of the fire hazard is not commenced within the time specified in the notice and diligently and without interruption prosecuted to completion, that he shall request the county health officer to institute abatement proceedings pursuant to Article V of this chapter.
