§ 12.24.010. Permit required.¶
The City Manager is authorized to issue permits from time to time to the serving telephone company for the installation and maintenance of public telephones on the sidewalks of the city. The City Manager shall approve the number and location of such public telephones so as to best serve the public interest.

§ 12.24.020. Fees.¶
The permittee shall pay to the city a fee equal to 15% of the receipts, exclusive of federal communications excise taxes, from the coin receptacles of public telephones installed pursuant to the provisions of this chapter. Payments shall be made to the city not less frequently than annually.

§ 12.24.030. Liability.¶
The permittee shall save the city harmless from any and all losses, claims or judgments for damages to any person or property arising from the installation, maintenance or presence of public telephones on sidewalks.

§ 12.24.040. Installation.¶
The installation of public telephones on sidewalks shall be in a manner acceptable to the Public Works Director and the location shall not unreasonably interfere with the rights of the public to use the sidewalks consistent with their dedication to the public.

§ 12.24.050. Illumination.¶
The city, at its expense, will furnish electrical service for illumination for installations of public telephones on sidewalks.

§ 12.24.060. Maintenance.¶
The permittee shall maintain public telephones and any associated booths on sidewalks in good repair and in a safe and sightly condition at permittee's expense and to the satisfaction of the City Manager.

§ 12.24.070. Permit revocation.¶
The permit shall be revocable, thereby causing permittee to remove any public telephone installation on 30 days' written notice from the City Manager. The permittee in its discretion may remove any installation at any time. In the event of the removal of any installation, either at the request of the City Manager or in the exercise of the permittee's discretion, permittee shall restore the sidewalk as nearly as practicable to its condition prior to such installation.
