Monte Sereno Municipal Code Ch. 2.03 City Clerk

It shall be the duty of the City Clerk to keep an accurate record of the proceedings of the City Council and any other City Board, Commission, or Committee.

The Clerk shall keep a book marked "Ordinances" and record in it all City ordinances with the correct certificate annexed to each, stating:

It is a true and correct copy of a City ordinance;

A. The ordinance number;

B. It has been published or posted pursuant to law.

The Clerk shall act as ex officio assessor and shall assess and collect all City taxes save and except those collected by the County officers for the City.

The Clerk shall:

Be custodian of the City Seal;

A. Issue all City licenses as prescribed by ordinances;

B. Administer oaths or affirmations and take and certify affidavits and depositions pertaining to City affairs and business which may be used in any court or proceedings in the State;

C. Perform all other duties necessary to the function of the office required by law and as determined by the Mayor with the consent of the Council.

The Clerk shall receive compensation as may be determined upon by the City Council.

The City Clerk shall, before entering upon the duties of this office, execute and deliver to the City of Monte Sereno a corporate surety bond conditioned upon the faithful performance of the Clerk's duties, in such amount as shall from time to time be fixed by resolution of the City Council. The premium of the bond shall be paid by the City.
