4.64.010 - Business license required.¶

It is unlawful for any person to engage in or carry on the business of a private investigator, pursuant to Business and Professions Code Section 7521, or private patrol operator, pursuant to Business and Professions Code Section 7582.1, without first obtaining a business license.

4.64.020 - Uniforms.¶

It is unlawful for any person performing the duties of a private investigator or private patrol operator to wear a uniform or drive a vehicle that is similar or the same as the uniforms and vehicles used by peace officers of the Montclair Police Department. Uniforms worn and vehicles used by private investigators or private patrol operators shall be clearly distinguishable form the uniforms worn or vehicles used by peace officers of the Montclair Police Department.
