10.16.010 - Purpose of regulations.¶
The purpose of this chapter is to require security devices in certain buildings as a measure toward preventing burglary, theft, and unlawful entry.

10.16.020 - Administration and enforcement.¶
The Building Official is designated to administer and enforce the provisions of this chapter.

10.16.030 - Rules and regulations.¶
The Building Official may adopt such rules and regulations as will carry out the purposes and intent of this chapter. Such rules and regulations may include, but are not limited to, the types and location of security and locking devices, inspections for building security, tests that shall be conducted to determine the adequacy of the security, and exemptions from the requirements for security devices.

10.16.040 - Buildings requiring security devices.¶
The provisions of this chapter shall apply to all buildings used for the purpose of conducting, managing, or carrying on any business and to all motels, hotels, and multifamily dwellings of four or more units, and to all residences of less than four units which require building permits for any reason. All such buildings shall, when unattended, be secured so as to prevent burglary, theft, or unauthorized entry. The security of such buildings shall include physical security and security devices to protect exterior openings into buildings.

10.16.050 - Responsibility for security.¶
The owner of a building requiring security pursuant to the provisions of this chapter shall bear the responsibility for compliance with the provisions of this chapter.

10.16.060 - Copies of rules and regulations.¶
One complete and current copy of the rules and regulations adopted by the Building Official shall be kept on file in the officer of the City Clerk and shall be available for inspection during the regular hours the City Hall is open for business.
