17.22.010 Designation of areas for emergency vehicles only. ¶
All areas in the fire department building and all areas used or possibly used in connection with the fire department building for driveways or other access are designated as areas for emergency vehicles only. It is unlawful and a traffic infraction for any nonemergency vehicle to park in any area designated “For Emergency Vehicles Only.” Violation of this provision shall subject the owner of the offending vehicle to the sanctions set forth in Section 17.22.040 of this chapter. 17.22.020 Designation of areas for parking by city vehicles or by permit only. ¶
All areas adjacent to the fire department building except the driveways but including the two city parking lots, one on the north side of the fire department building and one on the south side of the fire department building, are designated as areas for city vehicles or by permit only. It is unlawful and a traffic infraction for any vehicle other than a city vehicle or a vehicle with an approved permit to park in any area designated for city vehicles or by permit only. Violation of this provision shall subject the owner of the offending vehicle to the sanctions set forth in Section 17.22.040 of this chapter. (Ord. 89-5 § 2, 1989)
17.22.030 Issuance of permits. ¶
The city clerk's office shall be authorized to issue a permit to any noncity-owned vehicle for parking in the lots adjacent to the fire department building as provided herein, upon approval of the city fire chief. The permit shall be valid during the time the permittee is a member of the city fire department, but shall be automatically revoked upon said person's termination from the city fire department. No fee shall be charged for the issuance of any permit under this section. (Ord. 89-5 § 3, 1989)
17.22.040 Sanctions for violation of this chapter. ¶
Violation of this chapter shall be, as stated herein, a traffic infraction and shall be punishable as follows:
A. Violations of Section 17.22.010. Vehicles parked in violation of Section 17.22.010 shall be subject to being towed at owner's expense and shall further be subject to a fine of not less than fifty dollars.
B. Violations of Section 17.22.020. Vehicles parked in violation of Section 17.22 020 shall be subject to a fine of not less than fifteen dollars. (Ord. 89-5 § 4, 1989)
17.22.050 Erection of signs. ¶
The city clerk's office is authorized to order and the maintenance department is authorized to erect such signs as are necessary and appropriate to notify the public of the parking restrictions contained in this chapter. There shall be a minimum of two signs at the front and rear of the fire department building and a minimum of two signs in each parking lot. (Ord. 89-5 § 5, 1989)
