§ 12.33.010 HILLSIDE WILDERNESS PRESERVE DESIGNATED.

The Hillside Wilderness Preserve refers to city owned land referred to in the General Plan as "Hillside Wilderness Preserve which can be accessed from the Highland Access Point, Cloverleaf Access Point, Ridgeside Access Point, and Sleepy Hollow Access Point.

§ 12.33.020 APPLICABILITY OF CHAPTER.

The rules and regulations prescribed in this chapter shall govern the use of the Hillside Wilderness Preserve. The City Council may, in its discretion, apply additional or more restrictive rules and regulations to the Hillside Wilderness Preserve based on unique circumstances.

§ 12.33.030 RECREATIONAL ACTIVITY.

Recreational activity in the Hillside Wilderness Preserve shall be under the direction and control of the Public Services Director.

§ 12.33.040 HOURS OF OPERATION.

(A) The Hillside Wilderness Preserve shall be open to the public between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. of each day.

(B) Use of the Hillside Wilderness Preserve at times other than those specified in this section may be authorized by a special permit issued by the Public Services Department.

(C) The City Manager, the Public Services Director, the Public Works Director, or the Community Services Director may adjust the hours of closure at his or her discretion.

§ 12.33.050 RESTRICTIONS APPLICABLE TO THE USE OF THE HILLSIDE WILDERNESS PRESERVE.

The following conduct or activity shall be prohibited for use within the limits of the Hillside Wilderness Preserve at all times:

(A) Camping, as defined in § 12.32.010, unless authorized by a special permit from the Community Services Department;

(B) Lighting, smoking, carrying, throwing or dropping any burning or smoldering portion of any cigarette, cigar, match or other burning substance in any area of the Hillside Wilderness Preserve; and

(C) Activities listed in § 12.32.050(B), except for § 12.32.050(B)(5)(b).

§ 12.33.060 VIOLATIONS PUNISHABLE AS ADMINISTRATIVE CITATION, INFRACTION OR MISDEMEANOR.

A violation of any provision of this chapter is punishable pursuant to§§ 12.32.060 and 12.32.080 of this code.

§ 12.33.070 SPECIAL PARK CLOSURES.

The City Manager, the Fire Chief, or the Police Chief may declare the Hillside Wilderness Preserve closed as necessary to protect the public health, safety and welfare.
