12.12.010 - Purpose of chapter provisions.

The purpose of this chapter is to extend the prohibitions of Streets and Highways Code Sections 1487 and 1488 to sprinkler-type irrigation, to the extent that such sections do not cover sprinkler irrigation.

12.12.020 - Permitting water on public roads prohibited when.

It is unlawful for any person to permit water to fall upon any public road in such a way as to create a safety hazard, or as to permit the water to freeze and become ice.

12.12.030 - Sprinkling onto county roads prohibited.

No person shall cause water to be sprinkled from any irrigation system upon any Modoc County road.

12.12.040 - Discharging water on passing vehicles prohibited.

No person shall discharge water upon any public highway in such a manner as to cause it to fall upon passing vehicles.

12.12.050 - Damaging roadbed prohibited.

No person shall cause water, through or by reason of saturation of the roadbed and materials thereunder, to cause damage to any public road.

12.12.060 - Violation—Penalty.

Should any person violate any of the foregoing provisions of this chapter, he shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall be punished by a fine of not to exceed five hundred dollars, or by imprisonment in the county jail for a period of ninety days, or both.
