§ 8.60.020. Brandish, except in self-defense, forbidden—Penalties.

Every person who, within the City, except in self-defense, in the presence of any other person, draws or exhibits any knife or any of the weapons enumerated in Section 8.60.010 hereof, in a rude, angry or threatening manner or who, in any manner, unlawfully uses the same in any fight or quarrel, is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by imprisonment in the county jail for a term not to exceed six months, or by a fine not exceeding $500.00 or by both such imprisonment and fine.

§ 8.60.030. Permits required to carry, discharge.

It shall be unlawful for anyone, not an officer of the law, to carry any concealed weapon, or to discharge any kind of firearms, air or spring guns, or use any sling shot within the limits of the City of Mill Valley, without first applying for and obtaining a written permit from the City Council so to do.
