12.08.020 - Sign, showcase, stand or rack—Abatement.¶
The construction, erection, placing, keeping or maintaining of any sign, showcase, stand, rack, frame or other device for the storage, display or sale of any merchandise of any kind, or the construction of any structure, obstruction, or anything along, under, over or upon any public street, curb, sidewalk, alley gar public way in the city is a nuisance, and the city engineer is directed to abate the same.

12.08.040 - Discharging wastewater.¶
It is unlawful for any person to cause or permit to be discharged any wastewater from any premises owned or controlled by him into or upon any street, sidewalk, gutter or alley in the city; provided, that wastewater is not construed to mean stormwaters.

12.08.050 - Playing on streets.¶
It is unlawful for any person to play upon or in any of the streets of the city on which electroliers have been constructed, baseball, football, basketball or any other game in which any ball or other device is thrown, struck or otherwise propelled into the air and which if it struck any electrolier or other lighting device would break or otherwise damage such electrolier or other lighting device.

12.08.060 - Taking down or injuring street signs.¶
It is unlawful for any person to willingly run into, knock down, take down, deface, destroy or injure in any way whatsoever, any sign or other device placed at the intersections of any of the streets of the city by order of the city council for the purpose of directing or controlling traffic on the streets of the city.

12.08.080 - Burning on paved streets.¶
No person shall set fire to or burn, or cause to be set fire to or burned, any rags, paper, wood, rubbish or other combustible material upon any street, alley, public place or sidewalk paved with or constructed of asphaltum or any other combustible matter.

12.08.090 - Discharging oil.¶
It is unlawful for any person to deposit, place or discharge, or to cause, suffer or permit to be deposited, placed or discharged, any oil, petroleum, naphtha, liquid asphaltum or any kindred substance, water or refuse mixed with any of those substances in or upon any public street, alley, place or sewer of the city or upon any private property in the city in such a manner that the same will run into or upon any public street, alley, place or sewer of the city.

12.08.095 - Illegal sale of controlled substances.¶
It is unlawful for any person to loiter in, on or near any thoroughfare or place open to the public or near any public or private place in a manner and under circumstances manifesting the purpose of engaging in drug-related activity defined as offenses in Chapter 6 and 6.5 of Division 10 of the California Health and Safety Code. For purposes of this section, it shall be declared a nuisance for any person to cause or pest the illegal sale of controlled substances from any premises owned or controlled by him within the City of Merced.
