§ 2.30.010. Fees.¶
The Merced County coroner is hereby authorized, whenever he or she takes custody of a deceased person's body pursuant to law, to charge and collect from the person entitled to control the disposition of the remains of said body, as specified in Section 7100 of the Health and Safety Code, the actual expense incurred by the coroner in removing the body from the place of death and keeping the body until it is released to the person responsible for its interment. Said charge shall not exceed $100. The coroner or designee shall have discretionary authority to waive the fee, or any portion thereof, based on the ability of the responsible party to pay.

§ 2.30.020. Authority to charge fees.¶
The authority to charge and collect the actual expense incurred by the coroner are subject to all of the limitations which are presently contained in, or which may be added to, Government Code Section 27472.
