9.24.010 - Definition.¶
For the purposes of this chapter, an "establishment serving alcoholic beverages" means any place or establishment where alcoholic beverages of any kind are sold for consumption on the premises.

9.24.020 - Possession of knives unlawful.¶
It is unlawful for any person to possess a knife with a blade longer than two inches in length while being present, or on the premises, of any establishment serving alcoholic beverages.

9.24.030 - Notice by operators of establishments serving alcoholic beverages.¶
All establishments serving alcoholic beverages shall post a sign as described in Section 9.24.040 of this chapter at every public entrance to their establishment. Said sign must be placed in a conspicuous place at said entrances and situated so as to be readily visible by all persons who enter such establishments.

9.24.040 - Sign.¶
The sign prescribed by Section 9.24.030 of this chapter shall be no smaller than eighteen inches (18) by eighteen (18) inches, and read as follows:
"IT IS UNLAWFUL FOR ANY PERSON TO BE IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT WHILE POSSESSING A KNIFE WITH A BLADE LONGER THAN TWO (2) INCHES. ES CONTRA LA LEY ESTAR EN ESTE ESTABLE-CIMIENTO MIENTRAS LLEVANDO UN CUCHILLO O NAVAJA CON LA HOJA MAS LARGA QUE DOS (2) PULGADAS. MMC 7.10.002."

9.24.050 - Exceptions.¶
A. Nothing in this chapter shall be construed so as to prohibit the operator or any employee of an establishment serving alcoholic beverages from having such knives as are necessary for the operation of such establishment or for the preparation of food, drinks, etc.
B. Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to prohibit any patrons of an establishment serving alcoholic beverages from possessing knives, supplied to them by the establishment, and used as dining utensils.
