24.02.010 - Designated. ¶
For the purpose of establishing controls and requirements appropriate to specific areas, lands within the unincorporated area of Marin County are placed into one or more of the following classifications as defined in the Marin countywide plan:
(a)
City centered corridor;
(b)
Inland rural corridor;
(c)
Coastal recreation corridor;
(d)
Conservation zone;
(e)
Village areas, including:
(1)
Dillon Beach,
(2)
Tomales,
(3)
Marshall,
(4)
Inverness,
(5)
Inverness Park,
(6)
Pt. Reyes Station,
(7)
Olema,
(8)
Bolinas,
(9)
Stinson Beach,
(10)
Muir Beach,
(11)
Nicasio,
(12)
Lagunitas,
(13)
Forest Knolls,
(14)
San Geronimo,
(15)
Woodacre.

24.02.020 - Coastal zone.
Projects located within the coastal zone, as defined by the Coastal Act of 1976, may be subject to a coastal development permit pursuant to Chapters 22.56, and 22.57 of this code. Different standards, as set forth in these chapters, are applicable to projects located in the coastal zone.

24.02.030 - State responsibility areas.
For properties which lie within state responsibility areas (SRA) for fire protection as established by the State Board of Forestry, State Fire Safe Standards apply (PRC 4290). Some of the state standards are more restrictive than the county development standards contained herein. Where the state standards apply, projects shall be designed to meet the more restrictive elements of this title or the state standards when and as required by the agency. The applicant shall also comply with any mitigations recommended by the fire department of jurisdiction when and as required by the agency. A summary of the State Fire Safe Standards is available from the agency or the local fire department.
