6.04.001. - Title.¶
This title shall be known as the Town Animal Control Ordinance.

6.04.010. - Definitions.¶
The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this title, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
Animal shelter means the County animal shelter or another animal shelter operated by a governmental agency, society, or organization under contract to the Town to accept animals, unless the Town maintains an animal shelter, in which case the term "animal shelter" shall refer to the Town animal shelter.
At large means an animal off the premises of its owner and not under the control of the owner by means of an enclosure, leash, rope, chain, or other means of effective physical control.
Dog includes all canine species.
Kennel means any lot, building, structure, enclosure, or premises where four or more dogs more than six months of age are kept at the same time, or where any dogs are kept for the purpose of sale or breeding.
Municipal boundary means the outer edge of the area comprising the territory of the Town.
Owner means the owner, custodian, caretaker, or person in possession or control of any dog or animal.
Unlicensed dog means any dog for which the license for the current year has not been paid.
Vaccination means the inoculation of a dog with a vaccine approved by and in the manner prescribed by the State Department of Public Health.
