12.24.010. - Definitions.

The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

Hydrant includes any device for the control of water, such as, but not limited to, stopcock, valve, gate or other device established for the purpose of the delivery of water supply for fire suppression purposes.

12.24.020. - Prohibitions.

No person shall touch, contact, operate, turn off or on or obstruct the free access to any fire hydrant without a written permit from the appropriate authority having possession, control or ownership of the hydrant.

12.24.030. - Enforcement.

The provisions of this chapter shall be enforced by any law enforcement officer, peace officer, special peace officer, State or district fire chief or other duly authorized fire enforcement individual.
