3.48.010 - County counsel fees.¶
The office of the county counsel shall, and is hereby authorized to charge fees at the rate of one hundred ten dollars per hour for each hour or pro-rata portion thereof (with a minimum of fifteen minutes) of professional services in any fiscal year, rendered to any independent district or agency which is entitled to request legal services from the county counsel.
Fees shall not be charged to any agency for which the board of supervisors is the governing board or ex-officio governing board of the agency.
(Ord. No. 648, § 2, 5-18-10).
3.48.020 - Special arrangement.¶
Notwithstanding the above provisions, in appropriate cases the county counsel may, with the approval of the board of supervisors, make special arrangements with an independent public agency for representation on a special fee or cost basis.
(Ord. No. 648, § 2, 5-18-10).
3.48.030 - Award of attorneys fees.¶
The fees established by this chapter are less than the reasonable value of the services of the county counsel and reflect some subsidization of the agencies to which the legal services are provided. To that extent, the fees specified in this chapter shall not be binding upon the county in cases in which the county is entitled to recover attorneys fees, by court order or otherwise.
(Ord. No. 648, § 2, 5-18-10).
