§ 6-8.01. Adoption of standards for protection of water wells.

That certain document, a copy of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk, entitled "Bulletin No. 74, Water Well Standards: State of California", published by the State of California, The Resources Agency, Department of Water Resources, and more particularly Chapter II thereof, "Standards", is hereby adopted as the standards of the City for regulating the construction, reconstruction, and destruction of water wells in the City, and all of the terms, provisions, definitions, and requirements of said Chapter II of Bulletin No. 74, Water Well Standards, State of California, are hereby referred to, incorporated in, and made a part of this Code as if fully set forth in this Code.

That certain document, a copy of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk, entitled "Bulletin No. 74-1, Cathodic Protection Well Standards, State of California", published by the State of California, The Resources Agency, Department of Water Resources, and more particularly Chapter II thereof, "Standards", is hereby adopted as the standards of the City for regulating the construction, reconstruction, and destruction of cathodic protection wells in the City, and all of the terms, provisions, definitions, and requirements of said Chapter II of Bulletin No. 74-1, Cathodic Protection Well Standards, State of California, are hereby referred to, incorporated in, and made a part of this Code as if fully set forth in this Code.

§ 6-8.03. Enforcing agency.

The Public Works Department is hereby designated as the agency to administer all laws or ordinances pertaining to water wells and cathodic protection wells in the City.

§ 6-8.04. Permits: Fees.

No water well or cathodic protection well shall be constructed, reconstructed, or destroyed within the City without first applying for and obtaining a permit so to do from the City and paying the fees prescribed therefor. Such fees shall be established by ordinance or resolution and shall be sufficient in amount to provide for the costs of the clerical functions of issuing and handling the permits, the inspection of the work by personnel designated by the Public Works Department, the checking of plans, and any expenses or costs incidental thereto. In no event shall such fees be less than Ten and No/100ths ($10.00) Dollars.
