§ 6-6.01. Definitions.

For the purposes of this chapter, unless otherwise apparent from the context, certain words and phrases used in this chapter are defined as follows:

"Auto and trailer park"

shall mean any area or tract of land where space is rented or held for rent to two or more owners or users of trailer coaches or where free parking is permitted owners or users of trailer coaches for the purpose of securing their trade.

"Trailer coach"

shall mean any camp car, trailer, or other vehicle, with or without motive power, designed and constructed to travel on the public thoroughfares at the maximum allowable speed limit and in accordance with the provisions of the Vehicle Code of the State and designed or used for human habitation, or any portable structure used or designed for human habitation or the preparation of food.

§ 6-6.02. Unlawful parking.

It is unlawful to park or place any trailer coach overnight on any public street, alley, or any parcel of real property within the City, except at an auto and trailer park for which a permit has been obtained from the Division of Housing of the State, as required by Section 18500 of the Health and Safety Code of the State, or unless the conditions set forth in Section 6-6.03 of this chapter are complied with.

§ 6-6.03. Lawful parking.

(a) On-street parking. Trailer coaches may be parked on City streets only under the following conditions:

(1) Trailer coaches shall not be parked so as to constitute a hazard to traffic or pedestrians.

(2) Occupied trailer coaches shall not be left: parked in the same position for more than 24 consecutive hours.

(b) Off-street parking. The owner or occupant of any parcel of property within the City, or his bona fide guest, may park a trailer coach on such property under the following conditions:

(1) The trailer coach shall not be used for sleeping purposes more than seven nights in any 90 day period.

(2) Cooking facilities, if any, located in the trailer coach shall not be used under any circumstances.

(c) Special conditions. Trailer coaches and other types of recreational vehicles may be parked on property owned or leased by a governmental agency when such parking is authorized and sanctioned by the governmental agency having the control of such property. Trailer coaches parked pursuant to this subsection shall not be subject to the provisions of subsections (a) and (b) of this section.
