§ 9-3.901. Purpose (M-X). ¶
The purpose of this district is to allow shops on multiple levels, with the first floor primarily retail, with retail, office, residential and other non-retail uses permitted on upper levels. Uses are advocated which foster retail development, with associated residential thereby enhancing the district as a pedestrian oriented shopping area.

§ 9-3.902. Uses permitted (M-X). ¶
The following uses shall be permitted in the Mixed Use District:
(a) Art, craft and photography galleries/studios;
(b) Music and dance studios;
(c) Banks, savings and loan facilities;
(d) Eating and/or drinking establishments;
(e) Communication facilities;
(f) Food service;
(g) Specialty food or drink shops;
(h) Health clubs or exercise studios;
(i) Maintenance and repair service, small equipment;
(j) Offices, business, professional or medical;
(k) Personal services;
(l) Recreation and entertainment;
(m) Bed and breakfast inn, hotel or motel;
(n) Cultural and/or historical institutions;
(o) Government offices;
(p) Public parking facilities;
(q) Retail sales;
(r) Residential;
(s) Small family day care homes and large family day care homes;
(t) Public utility distribution and transmission line towers and poles and underground facilities for the distribution of gas, water, communications, and electricity;
(u) Churches.
(v) Supportive housing;
(w) Transitional housing; and
(x) Employee housing that complies with California Health and Safety Code Sections 17008 and 17021.5 and other applicable provisions of the Employee Housing Act – limited to employee housing of six or fewer employees.

§ 9-3.903. Uses subject to securing use permits (M-X). ¶
(a) Off-sale and on-sale alcoholic beverages, either separately or in conjunction with a use permitted in the district.
(b) Any other use deemed appropriate by the Planning Commission.

§ 9-3.904. Height limits (M-X). ¶
The maximum height of buildings in the Mixed Use District shall be fifty (50′) feet. (§ 76, Ord. 1095, eff. November 20, 2010)
§ 9-3.905. Building sites (M-X). ¶
Building sites in the Mixed Use (M-X) District shall be a minimum of 1,000 square feet. (§ 76, Ord. 1095, eff. November 20, 2010)
§ 9-3.906. Yards (M-X). ¶
Where yards border on a major or collector street, the requirements for yards in the Mixed Use District shall be as set forth in Article 19 of this chapter, otherwise, there are no requirements. (§ 76, Ord. 1095, eff. November 20, 2010)
