8.08.010 - Maximum speed limit.¶
The maximum prima facie speed limit in all business or residential districts of the city is twenty-five (25) miles per hour, except where provided differently in the California Vehicle Code, or where increased or decreased pursuant to said Vehicle Code.

8.08.020 - Changes in prima facie speed limit.¶
On the basis of an engineering and traffic survey, and pursuant to Sections 627, 22357 and 22358 of the California Vehicle Code, the city council determines that the maximum speed on the following streets, along their entire length unless notes, is reasonable and safe:
A.
Twenty-five (25) miles per hour:
Almond Avenue.
Clark Avenue.
Covington Road.
Cuesta Drive.
Edith Avenue.
El Monte Avenue, from Foothill Expressway to Springer Road/city limits.
Fallen Leaf Lane, from Homestead Road to Fremont Avenue.
Fremont Avenue, from El Monte Ave to Riverside Drive.
Fremont Avenue, from Miramonte Avenue to Grant Road.
Granger Avenue.
Grant Road.
Jardin Drive.
Los Altos Avenue.
Main Street.
Miramonte Avenue.
Portland Avenue.
Oakhurst Avenue.
St. Joseph Avenue.
B.
Thirty (30) miles per hour:
Cristo Rey Drive, from Foothill Boulevard to west city limits.
El Monte Avenue, from Foothill Expressway to south city limits.
Fremont Avenue, from Grant Road to east city limits.
Springer Road, from Foothill Expressway to north city limits.
C.
Thirty-five (35) miles per hour:
El Camino Real.
Homestead Road.
San Antonio Road.
D.
Forty (40) miles per hour: None.
E.
Forty-five (45) miles per hour: Foothill Expressway.
