3.12.010 - Assessments and collections to be made by the county.

Pursuant to the provisions of Sections 51500 through 51507 of Article 1 of Chapter 2 of the Government Code of the state, the council hereby elects that the duties of assessing property and the collection of real property and unsecured personal property taxes in the city are hereby transferred to the assessor and tax collector of the county.

3.12.020 - Compensation for assessment and collection duties.

The city shall pay the county such compensation as may be fixed by agreement between the board of supervisors and the council, and the making of such an agreement is hereby authorized.

3.12.030 - Duties of the city clerk and chief of police.

All duties provided by law to be performed by the city assessor, other than the assessing of property, shall be transferred to and performed by the city clerk or such other officer as the council may hereafter determine by ordinance, and all duties provided by law to be performed by the city tax collector, other than the collection of taxes, shall be transferred to and be performed by the chief of police or such other officer as the council may hereafter determine by ordinance.
