§ 12.26.010. Prohibitions.

When any street is designated and declared a weight restricted route by appropriate signs, no person shall drive any vehicle exceeding a maximum gross weight limit of 14,000 pounds on said street or portion of said street.

§ 12.26.020. Exceptions.

A. Pursuant to California Vehicle Code Section 35703, the provisions of this chapter shall not apply to:

  1. Commercial vehicles coming from an unrestricted street having ingress and egress by direct route to and from a restricted street when necessary for the purpose of making pickups or deliveries of goods, wares, and merchandise from or to any building or structure located on the restricted street, or for the purpose of delivering materials to be used in the actual and bona fide repair, alteration, remodeling, or construction of any building or structure upon the restricted street for which a building permit has been previously obtained;

  2. Passenger buses under jurisdiction of the public utilities commission;

  3. Any vehicle, owned by a public utility, necessary for the construction, installation, maintenance, or repair of public utilities; or

  4. Any vehicle owned and operated by a public agency.

§ 12.26.030. Weight restricted routes.

A. The following streets and parts of streets are declared to be weight restricted routes and shall not be used by vehicles exceeding a maximum gross weight of 14,000 pounds:

  1. Canada Road from Dimension Drive to Lake Forest Drive;

  2. Osterman Road from Pittsford Drive to Regency Lane;

  3. Pittsford Drive from Northcrest Drive to Lake Forest Drive;

  4. Regency Lane from Normandale Drive to Lake Forest Drive;

  5. Normandale Drive from El Toro Road to Osterman Road;

  6. Aliso Park Drive from El Toro Road to Midcrest Drive;

  7. Northcrest Drive from Midcrest Drive to El Toro Road;

  8. Serrano Road from Toledo Way to El Toro Road;

  9. Toledo Way from Bake Parkway to Lake Forest Drive;

  10. Jeronimo Road from Bake Parkway to Lake Forest Drive; and

  11. Muirlands Boulevard from north City limits to Lake Forest Drive.

§ 12.26.040. Posting.

Whenever in this chapter or any ordinance, any street or portion thereof is designated as a weight restricted route that prohibits its use by vehicles exceeding a maximum gross weight limit of 14,000 pounds, the Director of Public Works/City Engineer is authorized to give notice of the weight restriction by posting the appropriate signs.

§ 12.26.050. Enforcement.

Enforcement of the maximum gross weight limits established by this chapter, or any ordinance, shall be pursuant to California Vehicle Code Sections 21461 and/or 35701.
