Sec. 11-3-200. - Assumption of responsibility by city.

Pursuant to Public Resources Code § 4129, the city hereby elects to assume responsibility for the prevention and suppression of all fires on all lands in the city, including lands within state responsibility areas, subject to the concurrence of the director of the state department of forestry, but not including lands owned or controlled by the federal government or any agency of the federal government. Such assumption of responsibility is contingent on the annual execution of a contract acceptable to the city, providing for the reimbursement of the city's costs of serving the state responsibility areas, as provided in Public Resources Code § 4133.
