1.20.010 - Code violation penalties.¶
No person shall violate any provision of this code. Each person shall be guilty of a separate offense for each and every day during any portion of which any violation of any provision of this code is committed, continued or permitted by such person and punishable accordingly. In addition to the penalties provided herein, any violation of this code shall be deemed a public nuisance and may be abated as such by the city. Violations of this code are hereby classified, and punishable, as follows:
A. Infractions. Except as provided in subsection B of this section, any violations of this code shall be an infraction. Every such violation shall be punishable as provided in the general laws of the state for infractions.
B. Misdemeanors. Any violation of the provisions of the Title 8 (Land Use Regulations) of this code shall be misdemeanors and punishable by a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than one year or by both such fine and imprisonment.

1.20.020 - Aiding and abetting.¶
Whenever any act or omission is prohibited by this code, such prohibition shall be deemed also to prohibit the causing, permitting, aiding, abetting, suffering, or concealing such act or omission, and any person who shall so cause, permit, aid, abet, suffer, or conceal such act or omission shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall be punishable in accordance with the punishment prescribed for such act or omission.

1.20.030 - Agents, etc.¶
Whenever any provision of this code proscribes the conduct of any person, such proscription shall apply to each manager, lessee, agent, servant, officer, employee, or other person purporting to act for or on behalf of such person.

1.20.040 - Responsibility of occupant.¶
The occupant of any premises upon which a violation of this code is apparent, the owner of any object or material placed or remaining anywhere in violation of this code, or the occupant of any premises served by any excavation or structure made or erected in violation of this code, as the case may be, shall be deemed prima facie responsible for the violation so evidenced and subject to the penalties provided therefor.
