Sec. 4-13-201. - Misdemeanor penalty.¶
Except in cases where a different punishment is specifically prescribed elsewhere in this Code, every misdemeanor offense shall be punishable by imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months, or by fine not exceeding $1,000, or by both fine and imprisonment at the discretion of the court.

Sec. 4-13-202. - Infraction penalty.¶
A. Except as otherwise provided for in the Code, or in the City's bail schedule as established by resolution of the City Council and which may be amended from time to time, every violation determined to be an infraction is punishable by:
A fine not exceeding $100 for a first violation;
A fine not exceeding $200 for a second violation of the same provision within one year;
A fine not exceeding $500 for each additional violation of the same provision within one year.
B. A violation of local building and safety codes determined to be an infraction is punishable by:
A fine not exceeding $130 for a first violation;
A fine not exceeding $700 for a second violation of the same ordinance within one year;
A fine no exceeding $1,300 for each additional violation of the same ordinance within one year of the first violation.
A fine not exceeding $2,500 for each additional violation of the same ordinance within two years of the first violation if the property is a commercial property that has an existing building at the time of the violation and the violation is due to failure by the owner to remove visible refuse or failure to prohibit unauthorized use of the property.
C. A violation of a short-term rental ordinance that is an infraction is punishable by:
A fine not exceeding $1,500 for a first violation;
A fine not exceeding $3,000 for a second violation of the same ordinance within one year;
A fine not exceeding $5,000 for each additional violation of the same ordinance within one year of the first violation.

Sec. 4-13-203. - Continuing violation.¶
Each day any violation or failure to perform an act shall continue shall constitute a separate offense, unless otherwise specifically provided.

Sec. 4-13-204. - Consequence of open matters.¶
No person shall be issued a permit to use or improve a property if the property is the subject of an open code enforcement case or if such person owes the City any administrative citation fines, enforcement costs, or any fees or fines relating to the subject property.
