Sec. 2-10-901. - Definitions.¶
The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
Peddler means an individual who engages in the act of peddling for any purpose.
Peddling means the act of going from place to place, carrying or transporting newspapers and offering them for sale, or making sales and deliveries to purchasers. Peddling includes hawking.
Soliciting or canvassing means the act of going from place to place in the City for the purpose of displaying or taking orders for the sale of goods for future delivery or for services to be furnished.
Solicitor or canvasser means an individual who engages in soliciting or canvassing for any purpose.

Sec. 2-10-902. - Days, hours of operation.¶
No person shall, without prior appointment, solicit or canvass in the city on Sunday or on any national holiday, or before the hour of 9:00 a.m. of any day or after sunset on any day, except in the case of persons soliciting, canvassing or peddling newspapers, who may do so at any reasonable time.

Sec. 2-10-903. - Prohibited where posted.¶
No person shall, without prior appointment, solicit or canvass upon premises, which are posted with a sign or signs stating in substance that solicitors, canvassers or peddlers are not permitted.
