Ione Municipal Code Art. XVIII Acceptance and Effective Date of Franchise

No franchise granted pursuant to the provisions of this chapter shall become effective unless and until the grantee has executed a franchise agreement and the ordinance accepting such franchise agreement on the part of grantor has become effective and, in addition, unless and until all things required in this article and Article XII of this chapter are completed, all of such things being declared to be conditions precedent to the effectiveness of any such franchise granted hereunder. In the event any of such things are not done and completed in the time and manner required, the council may declare the franchise null and void.

Within ten days after the effective date of the resolution accepting a franchise agreement, or within such extended period of time as the council in its discretion may authorize, the grantee shall file with the city clerk the security account and insurance policies required by Article XII of this chapter and its agreement to be bound by and to comply with and to do all things required of it by the provisions of this chapter and the franchise agreement.
