§ 9.16.010. On public property—Prohibited.¶
No person shall paint, post, attach or affix any handbill, dodger, notice, sign or advertisement upon or to any bridge, fence, building or other property belonging to the county, or any tree situate in any public highway of the county; and no person shall deface, mar or disfigure any bridge, fence, building or other structure belonging to the county; or any tree situated in any public highway of the county; by painting, cutting, scratching or breaking the same or attaching or affixing anything thereto.

§ 9.16.020. On public highway—Prohibited.¶
No person shall erect, construct, place or maintain any signboard, billboard, sign or advertisement in, over or on any public highway of the county.

§ 9.16.030. Exceptions.¶
Nothing contained in this chapter shall be construed to prohibit the erection or placing in any highway of milepost, mileboards, guideboards or guideposts, or the painting, posting, attaching or affixing of warning signs, notices or signboards upon bridges, fences, buildings or other structures belonging to the county under authority of the board of supervisors thereof.

§ 9.16.040. Violation—Penalty.¶
Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not less than twenty-five dollars and not more than two hundred dollars, or by imprisonment in theCounty Jail for a period of not more than fifty days or by both such fine and imprisonment.
