§ 10.20.010. Restricted turning.

A. Pursuant to Section 22113 of the Vehicle Code, whenever the board determines upon the basis of a traffic engineering investigation that the prohibition of the making of any turning movement by any vehicle at any intersection or between any designated intersections is necessary, the board shall by resolution direct the road commissioner to erect an appropriate sign or signs stating the prohibition of such turning movements. The sign or signs may be supplemented by appropriate pavement markings.

B. Whenever the board finds upon the basis of a traffic engineering investigation that the conditions because of which such turning movements at such intersections or between such intersections has been prohibited in subsection A of this section, no longer exist, the board shall by resolution direct the road commissioner to remove such sign or signs and pavement markings.

§ 10.20.020. Turning markers and multiple lanes.

A. Pursuant to Section 22101 of the Vehicle Code, the board authorizes the road commissioner, upon the basis of a traffic engineering investigation, to cause official traffic control devices to be placed or erected within or adjacent to intersections to regulate or prohibit turning movements at such intersections.

B. When turning movements are required at an intersection, notice of such requirement shall be given by erection of a sign unless an additional clearly marked traffic lane is provided for the approach to the turning movement, in which event notice as applicable to such additional traffic lane shall be given by any official traffic control device.

C. When right or left hand turns are prohibited at intersections, notice of such prohibition shall be given by erection of a sign.

D. When official traffic control devices are placed as required in subsections B or C of this section, it is unlawful for any driver of a vehicle to disobey the directions of such official traffic control devices.

E. Whenever the road commissioner finds upon the basis of a traffic engineering investigation that any turning movement which has been regulated or prohibited by this section is no longer necessary, the road commissioner shall remove such regulation or prohibition.
