§ 3.38.010. Creation of the cultural and promotional events program.

The cultural and promotional events program is hereby created as a separate program in the General Fund.

§ 3.38.020. Use of money appropriated from cultural and promotional events program.

The legislative body may spend money in the cultural and promotional events program fund for the following purposes:

(a) Provide advertising, exploiting and making known the resources and attributes of Indian Wells including the climatic and recreational advantages of the City;

(b) For music and promotion including furnishing music and musical appearances either within the City or in a convenient nearby facility;

(c) Enhance the City's image and identity as a resort destination through the Cooperative Marketing Program;

(d) Provide support to the Palm Springs Desert Resorts Convention and Visitors Bureau;

(e) Maintain a viable, active leadership role in regional cultural and promotional activities and/or events that support the interests of the community;

(f) Provide support to the Cove Communities Recreation Commission and the Joslyn Senior Center.

§ 3.38.030. Contracts for cultural and promotional events program.

The City Council may further the purposes of this Chapter in any manner deemed reasonably prudent by the City Council with or without public bidding. Such purposes may be accomplished by contract with other agencies, associations or corporations.
