22-1 Definitions. The term “camp car,” “trailer,” “trailer coach” and “mobile home,”¶
shall include any vehicle or unit designed or used for living or sleeping purposes, which is equipped with or is designed to be equipped with wheels or similar devices for the purposes of transporting said unit from place to place, whether such vehicle or unit is actually equipped with wheels or similar devices, or not. 22-2 Occupation outside of trailer park, etc. It shall be unlawful for any person to¶
occupy a camp car, trailer, trailer coach or mobile home for living or sleeping purposes upon any lot or tract of ground within the confines of the city, except in a trailer court, trailer park or other similar place designated therefore and duly licensed by the city and approved for such purposes by the state pursuant to the State Housing Law, or other state agency having jurisdiction over such places. Nothing herein shall be deemed to prohibit those persons who on February 14, 1973, occupied camp cars, trailers, trailer coaches or mobile homes for living or sleeping purposes outside trailer courts or trailer parks, within the city, by virtue of authorization or permission previously granted and recorded by any official, officer or employee of the city. 22-3 Responsibility of owner of land. It shall be unlawful for the owner of any piece¶
or parcel of land within the city to suffer or permit a camp car, trailer, trailer coach or mobile home to be used for living or sleeping purposes upon any such piece or parcel of land within the city, except in compliance with this chapter. (Ord. 427)
22-4 Temporary occupancy permit. The chief of police is hereby authorized, upon¶
written application of any person, to grant a temporary permit to such person for the use and occupancy of any camp car, trailer, trailer coach or mobile home for a twenty-four hour period; provided, that in no event shall any permit be issued to any person for more than seven such twenty-four hour periods within any twelve month period.
