8.76.010 - Purpose.

This chapter is adopted to implement county requirements and policies to establish and maintain programs for developing a database from which to determine the effects of activities conducted in the county and for the early detention of subsidence.

8.76.020 - Subsidence monitoring program.

There is established in the county of Imperial a subsidence detection program to be administered by the department of public works. All entities engaged in activities which the department of public works determines has a possibility of causing or contributing to subsidence shall participate in the subsidence detection network. Such participation shall include, but is not limited to, establishing a system of benchmark monuments which connect with the county's subsidence detection network. Plans for such system and field survey data, prepared by a California registered civil engineer authorized to perform survey work of a California licensed land surveyor, shall be submitted to the department of public works for processing. Such plans and data shall be in accordance with survey procedures and instruments utilized as established by the National Geodetic Survey standards.

8.76.030 - Fees and charges.

Fees for the review, checking, and processing of plans, data, maps, and reports submitted pursuant to Section 8.76.020 of this chapter shall be payable to the county surveyor as follows:

A. 1 to thirty-nine (39) benchmarks: one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) plus six dollars ($6.00) per benchmark.

B. Forty (40) or more benchmarks: one hundred seventy-five dollars ($175.00) plus five dollars ($5.00) per benchmark.
