Sections: Prohibition against Littering. Remedies. 522-1. Prohibition against Littering. It shall be unlawful for any person to dump, place, deposit, leave, dispose of, or cause to be placed or disposed of, any solid waste, garbage, swill, or any rubbish or other offensive, unsightly or decaying matter of any kind whatsoever upon or along any public highway, street, thoroughfare, or right-of-way thereof, or upon any lane, alley, park, camping place, public ground, or into or onto the bank of any stream, dry watercourse, tide water, lake or reservoir. (Ord. 1339, § 3, 7/10/1979) 522-2. Remedies. In addition to the remedies provided in Sections 66796.50 through 66796.62 of the California Government Code, any person violating any provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine not less than Fifty Dollars ($50.00) nor more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) per offense, or by imprisonment in the County jail for a period not to exceed ninety (90) days, or both such fine and imprisonment.
