§ 13.08.610. Use of fire hydrants.

Fire hydrants are for use by the city or by organized fire protection agencies. Other parties desiring to use fire hydrants for any purpose must first obtain written permission from the water department prior to use and shall operate the hydrant in accordance with instructions issued by the water department. Unauthorized use of hydrants will be prosecuted according to law.

A charge to be prescribed from time to time by the council will be imposed for hydrant maintenance and water used for public fire protection.

§ 13.08.630. Moving of fire hydrants.

When a fire hydrant has been installed in the location specified by the proper authority, the city has fulfilled its obligation. If a property owner or other party desires a change in the size, type or location of the hydrant, he shall bear all costs of such changes, without refund. Any change in the location of a fire hydrant must be approved by the council.
