2.08.010 Definitions.¶
Words and phrases used hereinafter shall have the same meaning as defined in the Political Reform Act of 1974, as amended, Title 9, California Government Code (Section 81000 et. seq.) as it now exists or may hereafter be amended. (Prior code § 10.5-16)
2.08.020 Campaign contribution limitations.¶
- No person shall make a contribution to any candidate for city elective office, nor shall any candidate for city elective office accept, any contribution in aid of the election of a candidate to a city elective office which will cause the total given by such person with respect to a single election to exceed the sum of five hundred dollars ($500.00). This section shall not apply to amounts given by a candidate to his or her own campaign.
- Contributions by a husband and wife shall be treated as separate contributions and shall not be aggregated. Contributions by children under eighteen (18) years of age shall be treated as contributions attributed equally to each parent or guardian.

2.08.030 Endorsements.¶
No person shall issue any campaign literature or material to the public during an election which claims or implies any endorsement of a candidate without filing with the city clerk his affidavit, signed under penalty of perjury, that he has obtained the written consent of such person whose endorsement is claimed or implied.
