Hemet Municipal Code Art. IV Penalties

Penalties for violations of this chapter are as follows:

(a) Single offense. Any person who violates any section in the chapter is guilty of a separate infraction penalty and shall not be subject to a fine of greater than $100.00. Alternatively, any person who violates any section in the chapter in lieu of a fine may, if that person so requests, be required to provide no more than eight hours of community service.

(b) Subsequent offenses. Any person who violates any section in this chapter and is cited for such violation, and who within 364 days after receiving such citation again violates the same section, is guilty of a separate infraction and shall be subject to a separate fine of $200.00 for a second violation and $500.00 for a third violation within the next 364-day period after receiving the second citation.

(c) Misdemeanor. If a subsequent violation occurs within 364 days of receiving the third infraction citation as provided in subsection (b) above, such violation will result in a misdemeanor.
